A documentary on people who hear voices in their head received its UK premier at a North-East cinema.
The Tyneside Cinema screened In The Real, a film funded by the Durham University research project Hearing The Voice, on Tuesday July 14th
The project aims to provide a better understanding of what it is like to hear voices when no one is speaking.
Researchers estimate five to 15 per cent of UK adults will experience auditory hallucinations during their lifetimes.
The film was followed by a panel discussion with the makers of the film as well as Jacqui Dillon, chair of the Hearing Voices Network in England, and Dr Angela Woods, co-director of the Hearing the Voice project at Durham University.
