“China Cup” depicts Louise’s life and the feelings of her loved ones during a difficult period with her mental health. The style of the film is raw and honest.
Importantly, her mother and psychiatrist were persuaded to let her try making a film instead of proceeding with the involuntary admission. It marked the beginning of Louise taking the reigns in her healing journey and importantly, finding her own unique way to heal. In 2005 Louise began her first ‘consumer’ role and now works from the perspective of her lived experience as a lecturer in Recovery.
